The Hempstead Harbor Anglers Club is a recreational fishing club based in New York. The members of this saltwater fishing club fish the waters of western Long Island Sound. Hempstead Harbor is our main base of operations. Our tournament boundries are the marine waters from the Throgs Neck Bridge to a line from Cranes Neck, NY, to Sheffield Island off Connecticut. Most members own their own boats and fish the shoreline of Long Island across the Long Island Sound to the New York - Connecticut shore.
The four main saltwater species that we target are:
Striped Bass
Fluke
Blackfish
Bluefish
The Hempstead Harbor Anglers Club was founded on four principles:
1) The objective of this organization is to encourage a harmonious atmosphere for our members so that relationships may flourish as we enjoy our sportfishing.
2) The Hempstead Harbor Anglers Club will provide a harmonious atmosphere for our families by including them in our organization. Social events will be conducted that will include all immediate family members.
3) the Hempstead Harbor Anglers Club will be open to all. Sex, race, religion will not be a factor in our club. We will provide an open enrollment for all that are interested in saltwater fishing and adhering to the rules of the club.
4) The Hempstead Harbor Anglers Club intends to give back rather than just take. we will be active with all local organizations and government as it pertains to fishing contests, conservation, and the enforcement of local fishing management programs.
